January 1 is celebrated as the first day of the New Year across the world. Julius Caesar introduced the Julian Calendar in 46 BCE, and he named the month of January after the Roman god Janus. In honor of Janus, Julius Caesar declared January 1 as the beginning of the New Year.

Initially, the Gregorian calendar was followed only in Western countries, but now it is accepted and followed worldwide. January 1 has become one of the most widely celebrated holidays globally.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!
