It is observed by the monks of the Ramakrishna Math, followers of the Ramakrishna Mission, and members of the Vedanta Societies.

This celebration serves as a platform to spread the message and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and is considered one of the sacred festivals dedicated to the Lord.
It is believed that on this day, Sri Ramakrishna revealed to his disciples that he was God incarnate on earth.

The main celebration takes place at the Cossipore Garden House or Udyanbati in Kolkata, where Sri Ramakrishna spent the last days of his life.
