The primary aim of the party was to treat all Africans equally and ensure equal rights for everyone.

Nelson Mandela served as the president of the ANC from 1991 to 1997. The party played a major role in the fight against apartheid in South Africa and worked tirelessly to secure equal rights and freedom for all citizens.

On this same day in 1994, Russian cosmonaut Valeri Polyakov embarked on a space mission and spent 437 days, 17 hours, and 38 minutes in space conducting research.

He set a world record for the longest continuous stay in space by a human.
