Every year, January 12 is celebrated as National Youth Day in India. Since this is the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the day is observed in his honor. In 1984, the Government of India officially declared January 12 as National Youth Day.

"Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached" – this is one of the most valuable messages Swami Vivekananda gave to the youth of the nation.

Back in the 19th century, specifically in 1893, Swami Vivekananda represented Hinduism at the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago, where he introduced the world to the values of Hinduism and Yoga. His powerful speech turned the world's attention toward India.

His teachings and philosophy are still followed in many countries across the globe. That’s why Swami Vivekananda remains an eternal role model for the youth.
