Sri Bala Gangadharanatha Mahaswamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt was deeply involved in various social reform activities such as establishing hospitals, schools, promoting agriculture, environmental conservation, and founding centers for Vedic studies. Over one million students are receiving education under the institutions managed by the Mutt.
To uplift the Dalit community, he established several educational institutions and provided free education. For the welfare of the underprivileged, he launched noble initiatives like Anna Dasoha (free food distribution) and Akshara Dasoha (free education).
In support of environmental conservation, Mahaswamiji led a green revolution by planting over 50 million trees.
