The Holocaust refers to a genocide or mass killing. This day is observed every year on January 27.

On this day in 1945, the Soviet army liberated the Nazi concentration camps Auschwitz and Birkenau.

Hence, the United Nations officially declared January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day in 2005.

In those camps, more than 6 million Jews were brutally killed by the Nazis. We remember this day to ensure that such atrocities never happen again in the future.
